5 Ways to Eliminate Negative Emotions 4

You see, we all have internal programs we learn. Sometimes we learn them in childhood, and sometimes we learn them as adults.

Some of these programs aren’t helpful, such as constantly worrying, stopping yourself from writing, or scaring yourself so much that you can’t go after your dreams.

It’s not that these programs are bad, because they work perfectly. The problem happens when they stop you from doing something you want.

That’s when you need to change the programs within you.

The Bottom Line

5 Ways to Eliminate Negative Emotions 3

4. The Work

The Work was created by Byron Katie, and it’s a system of four simple questions:

• Is it true?

• Can you absolutely know that it’s true?

• How do you react when you believe this thought?

• Who would you be without this thought?

That’s how it starts, and while my paraphrasing of the questions may not be perfect, the questions still hold power, because they open up your mind and beliefs to new possibilities.

There are so many options to feel better that I am confused about the fact that people still try to drink and eat their problems away.

5. NLP

Last, but definitely not least is NLP, which I use when I work with my own clients. NLP gives you the user’s manual for your brain.

It allows me to help my clients achieve quick changes that have big ramifications in their life.

As an example, one client came to me with writer’s block. She had trouble with anxiety when she sat down to write.0

She loved writing, but it wasn’t happening. She had some bad memories and experiences from the past around writing, and when we cleared those up, everything changed.

5 Ways to Eliminate Negative Emotions 2

2. Acceptance

This is another part of being in the now. Most people try to run away from their negative emotions. They eat, watch TV, have sex, read, or hang online.

When you get curious about the feeling and accept it as a part of you, it tends to disappear.

But how do you accept it when it feels so painful?

That’s the first hurdle you have to overcome, because when you do, you will realize that the pain was only half an inch thick.

You can either learn to let go of your negative emotions, or you can keep doing what you’ve been doing up until this point.

3. EFT

EFT is weird, but it works. Nowadays I use something called FasterEFT, which is more efficient and uses a few tricks from NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

It’s faster, and it works better than classic EFT, at least for me. The mistake most people make is they dismiss EFT because of how it looks.

Another mistake is that they use it a few days and give up. Changing how you feel means going in and cleaning stuff up, and most of us have a lot of garbage stored in our brain, so it takes time.

But after a while you start feeling a deep sense of peace, joy, and wholeness. At that point you know that it’s all worth it.

Stay tuned for the more ways

5 Ways to Eliminate Negative Emotions 1

Do you ever experience negative emotions to the extent that you wish they would just go away forever?

We all do, and most people suffer unnecessarily because of them.

The good news is that you don’t have to do that. The bad news is that most people will do it anyway, even though the tools are right in front of their eyes.

Why?

Relationships - 80:20 Rule

null
There is no human being on earth who is perfect.

No perfect husband or wife exists, neither will there be a perfect marriage where the couple lived in eternal bliss with no quarrels, disagreements, misunderstandings and in total accordance with each other.

But, we wish for perfection, some of us will do our best to attempt to change our partner into someone whom we prefer.

How do you do that? How do you make your relationship as flawless as you could? By working on your partner’s faults and weaknesses, hoping to turn them into strengths and qualities that will augment the marriage, in your opinion.

But what if, your partner already possesses 80% of qualities in the image of a perfect spouse that you desire, and it’s only the 20% that acts as the obstacle towards you achieving the ultimate mark? Would you be so affected by that 20% and keep harping on it to yourself?

Some wives will whine about their partner’s lack of initiative, messiness, lack of communication, and fail to appreciate the stability, responsibility and honesty, the exact traits which made them commit to their relationship in the first place. The same goes for the husbands.

Without realising, these people are magnifying the problems, and making them seem larger than life. They begin to perceive the weakness as one that is much more serious than it actually is, and that gives them even more reason to talk about it, and it makes things worse again. They have just begun a vicious cycle.

Why not think about the 80% when you are affected by the 20? Because when you choose to focus on the good, only then will you be able to draw strength from the love that comes with it, then deal with that 20% .

See, how men focus on the negative even when it is only 20%, and so easily become blind to the goodness of things.

You are what your mind is capable of thinking and focusing. So, make the right decision today to zoom in to the plus points, and refrain yourself from indulging in your insatisfactions, othrewise you will be sucked into the black hole unconsciously.

Stop worrying and be Committed to being Happy - 1

We previously talked about WORRYING and how unproductive it is.
Worrying certainly gives you something to do but gets you nowwhere!

We can stop unnecessary worrying if we can distinguish between the things that are within our control and the things that are not within our grasp.
Then, we will realise that a lot of nitty gritty things that we worry about daily are really not in our control! So why worry ?

Bear in mind always that YOU are in control.

But isn't that contradictory?  Afterall, we just mentioned that a lot of things we worry about are not within our control ?

Excuses excuses...

As humans we are not only imperfect.

We also tend to make excuses.
Big excuses, small excuses, day in, day out

We all make excuses....

I can’t because …
...I’m too tired.
... I don’t have the time.
... I don’t have the money,
.... I don't have the equipment,
.... I don't have the space.
.... I am not talented enough
..... I am not smart enough

... I am not pretty enough

.. etc etc etc...

Excuses are like maggots.
They may be tiny but if there are a lot of them.
They will eventually eat us up!

So how do we stop excusing ourselves?

Let me recommend two ways:

i) Try to see the positive and the fun side of things!

Excuses are usually made because we don’t feel like doing something

Especially when we do not like to do something or feel negative about doing something,
for example,
wake up early in the morning for exercise, taking additional classes to learn more, etc
In such cases, try to adopt a positive attitude and look at the fun side of things.
Think about the fresh air, refreshing feeling of the morning air, or the interesting people you may meet in
class, etc

You’ll find yourself making fewer excuses.

2) Be accountable.

Excuses are our evil little ways of wriggling out of owning up to something or doing something. If we don’t have the time, money, etc., then it’s not our fault, right? Wrong. Start taking responsibility and soon you will see the solutions. In this light, it also helps if you have a workout partner, a project partner, or just someone to account to... get it?

See your goal and be motivated by it! Visualize your goals and just get started.

Let's all start having fun and stop making Excuses today !
